These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings at Strone House, Shore Road, Strone, Dunoon, Argyll and Bute, PA23 8RU, United Kingdom (“Strone House”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By making a booking you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. VAT
All prices quoted include VAT at the current UK rate unless stated otherwise. Should VAT change, we reserve the right to adjust your invoice accordingly.


2. Booking Conditions (2025)

  • A 30% flexible but non refundable deposit is taken by credit or debit card at the time of booking. This deposit is credited against your final balance. Final balance due 7 days before arrival.
  •  For Christmas, New Year and peak recharge periods, a 50% non refundable deposit is required on booking. The remaining balance falls due on December(or immediately if booked after that date).
  • Flexible: one amendment per booking permitted up to 72 hours before arrival (see Section 6: Amendments).

Bookings are confirmed only when the deposit payment has been successfully processed and you have received written confirmation from us.


3. Rates (2025)

Rates shown are from prices and vary by date, length of stay, occupancy, and availability.
All rates include VAT at the current rate.


4. Children and Additional guests:

Strone House accommodates sixteen people and a cot can be provided on request.


5. Dogs / Pets

Sorry no pets allowed with the exception of service animals


6. Amendments (Flexible Deposits)

Where a booking carries our flexible deposit condition, one change of date may be made up to 72 hours before 3pm on the day of arrival, subject to availability and any change in rate. If the new stay is priced higher, the difference is payable. If lower, the difference is retained as credit against in house spend or future stay (at our discretion). Deposits remain non refundable.


7. Cancellation Policy (2025)

  • Deposits are non refundable.
  • If you cancel within 7 days of arrival, an additional 70% of the full quoted stay value will be charged to the card on file.
  • No shows are charged in full.

8. Check in and Departure

  • Rooms are guaranteed from 3pm on the day of arrival.
  • If arriving after 10pm, please let us know in advance.
  • Departure time is 11am.

9. Use of the Property for Events

Strone House may be booked in whole or in part for weddings, corporate events, and family gatherings. Event terms (hire hours, access, noise considerations, and guest numbers) will be confirmed in writing at contract stage. Failure to adhere to agreed terms may result in additional charges or early termination of event privileges.


10. Damage, Loss, and Behaviour

Guests are responsible for any damage to rooms, furnishings, grounds, or equipment caused during their stay. Additional cleaning beyond normal use may be charged. We reserve the right to ask disruptive guests (or event attendees) to leave and to charge for loss of business or remedial works where appropriate.


11. Third Party Services and Suppliers

Where we recommend external suppliers (caterers, florists, marquee companies, entertainers), those businesses operate under their own terms. Contracts, insurance, and risk assessments remain between you and the supplier unless expressly agreed in writing that Strone House will manage them on your behalf.


12. Data Protection

Your personal data is handled in line with UK data protection law. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details on how we collect, use, and store your data, and your rights under GDPR.


13. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure to deliver services due to events beyond our reasonable control. These may include extreme weather, utility failure, industrial action, fire, flood, government restriction, or public health events. Where possible we will work with you to reschedule.


14. Complaints

We want you to enjoy your time at Strone House. If something is not right, please let us know as soon as possible during your stay so we can try to put it right. Formal complaints can be submitted in writing to info@stronehousescotland.co.uk.


15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
